Futbol Club Barcelona or “Barça”, as the club is popularly known, was founded in 1899 by Hans Gamper (Swiss) and eleven other enthusiasts in the beginnings of what was to become moder-day soccer.

This more than a century of history, full of great victories (including three european cups and 19 league titles) and time of misfotune, has witnessed the forging of the personality of an institutions which is said to be “much more than a club”. Whit the dictatorship General Franco, indeed a symbol of freedom and an expression of the cultural and political identity of Catalonia. Its stadium, the Camp Nou, has room for almost 100.000 spectadors and is the sport facility of largest capacity in all Europe.
